The concept of “B&B" stopover for the night, which used to mean that wonderful, hospitable people hosted you in their homes for a reasonable price, has been transformed to mean a classy, if small, boutique accommodation costing hundreds of dollars a night.
But, don’t give up! The traditional people-to-people form of hospitality is alive and well in house exchange and hospitality networks operating in many parts of the world, you've had friends doing house swaps in Europe or your kids have slept on someone's couch in South Americaâ, you just didn't know how to find appropriate contacts in Mexico.
