How Mexico Hospitality Works

You can join MexicoHospitality.com if you have a clean, comfortable house, apartment or condo anywhere in Mexico and you would like to exchange and/or host.

Hosting & Visiting

“Hosting” means providing a guestroom and breakfast or breakfast fixings, and perhaps an hour of your time, to orient like-minded traveler/guests to your area. “Visiting” means you are welcomed in the home of a Mexico Hospitality member. You don't have to arrange simultaneous visits, or reciprocal visits, or vacate so a visitor can use your house. As a Host you are home when your guest is there. As a Visitor you are a guest in another member's home.

House Exchange

For exchanges, you MAY arrange simultaneous visits to one another's homes, or non-simultaneous exchanges according to your schedules and needs. If you have a completely self-contained casita, you might be able to use a small house or apartment in the city or at the beach in exchange for the owner using your casita at a mutually agreeable time. The idea is that you and the owner in the place you wish to visit work out an agreement that benefits you both.

Both exchanges and visits are arranged solely by the 2 parties involved. For more information see Frequently Asked Questions: Mexico Hospitality Membership Guidelines. We encourage feedback on your experiences to keep Mexico Hospitality functioning smoothly with the level of hospitality and quality that we all desire.

What Money Changes Hands?

Normally, in an exchange, NO money changes hands between home owners.

The idea of hospitality is that the guest pays a gratuity of 150 pesos/night for a single or 200 pesos/night for a double to help defray the host’s costs. Imagine traveling anywhere in the country for that small sum per night!

We need YOUR help to build Mexico Hospitality!

We launched with a host of interest here in Central Mexico, where we live with our families, and from our friends and contacts around the country. It will benefit all of us equally if we quickly spread the word to others in Mexico who would also like to travel affordably by exchanging homes or visiting and hosting others.

Then, whether we’re heading for the beach or the mountains, the ruins or the colonial cities of the Central Plateau, the wilderness or the capitol, we’ll have friends-to-be waiting to host us.
